Die Hamburger Punk-Legende Slime ist ja bereits seit einiger Zeit wieder aktiv und befindet sich derzeit im Studio, um ein neues Album einzuspielen, das Mitte 2012 auf People Like You Records erscheinen wird. Die Band verkündet:
"Jetzt ist es definitiv! Nächstes Jahr wird es ein neues SLIME Album geben. Der aktuellen Besetzung mit Alex und Nici als neuen Bandmitgliedern haben die Live Konzerte der Reunion Tour soviel Spaß gemacht, daß wir uns entschlossen haben weiter zu machen. Da wir nicht immer wieder nur mit alten Songs auftreten wollen, haben wir bereits angefangen an neuem Material zu arbeiten.
Im Januar gehen wir für die Aufnahmen ins Studio und die Scheibe wird dann auf „People Like You Records“ Mitte 2012 erscheinen und natürlich mit Festival Auftritten im Sommer und einer Tour durch Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz im Herbst gefeiert werden.

Meshuggah: Tracklist und Artwork von Koloss

Iron Maiden: DVD Veröffentlichung "EN VIVO"

Für alle Iron Maiden Freunde wird in Kürze wieder ein visueller Leckerbissen erscheinen. Auf Ihrer Final Frontier Worldtour wurde die Show in Santiago, Chile professionell gefilmt und aufgezeichnet. Das Ganze wird als DVD mit dem Namen "En Vivo" in Kürze (23.03.2012) über EMI Music Germany erscheinen. Alle Informationen findet Ihr auf der Webseite von Iron Maiden und lest selber was EMI dazu zu sagen hat.
EMI Music Germany ist stolz, die Veröffentlichung einer neuen Live IRON MAIDEN Blu-Ray, Doppel-DVD und einem Doppelalbum am Freitag, den 23. März bekannt geben zu dürfen. "EN VIVO!" wurde am 10. April 2011 vor über 50.000 ekstatischen Fans im Estadio Nacional in Santiago, Chile während des "Round The World In 66 Days" Teils der "Final Frontier World Tour" gefilmt und bannt einen großartigen Auftritt der Band, sowie die leidenschaftliche Hingebung mit dem legendären südamerikanischen Temperament und Energie ihrer chilenischen Fans auf Film. Mit spektakulären Kulissen, dynamischem Spiel der Musiker und einem atemberaubenden Auftritt von Eddie, verkörpert diese Live-Show in Perfektion das Herz und die Seele von IRON MAIDEN 2011.
Bassist und Gründungsmitglied Steve Harris kommentiert: "Es war mir wirklich wichtig die "Final Frontier Tour" in Südamerika zu filmen, da wir, jedes mal wenn wir in diesem Teil der Welt sind, von den Fans und der Stimmung überwältigt sind und dieses wollte ich durch diesen Film dokumentieren. Nach reiflicher Überlegung haben wir uns für die Santiago Show entschieden, die wir für eine unserer besten Leistungen der gesamten Tour hielten und der Auftritt im Estadio Nacional war ein Meilenstein für uns. Aus Gründen die unseren Fans bekannt sind, verging einige Zeit bevor wir unsere erste Show in Chile spiele konnten. Doch als wir eine Show gespielt hatten, waren die Reaktionen so phänomenal und wir mussten einfach immer und immer wieder kommen und es wurde von mal zu mal besser!"
Diese Show beinhaltet auch den gigantischen neuen Eddie. Dieser hätte erst während der Europa Shows dazustoßen sollen, aber wir schafften es, ihn über den Seeweg in einem speziellen Container rechtzeitig für die letzten Termine in Südamerika zu transportieren. So konnten wir ihn auch auf der DVD verewigen, denn man muss ihn sehen, um es wirklich glauben zu können!"
Das Konzert wurde digital mit 22 HD-Kameras und einer OctoCam (eine fliegende Kamera, die Luftaufnahmen vom Publikum aufnimmt) gefilmt, in Stereo und 5.1-Audio aufgenommen und durch den langjährige MAIDEN Produzent Kevin "Caveman" Shirley abgemischt. All dies wurde aufgeboten, um die unglaubliche Atmosphäre und die fesselnde Performance der Band zu unterstreichen. Durch umfangreiche Verwendung von Split-Screens können die Fans den einzelnen Mitglieder folgen. Dabei bewegt sich die Set-Liste zwischen den Songs vom neuesten Studio-Album "The Final Frontier" von 2010, um nahtlos zu den Klassikern aus dem großen Bestand der Band überzugehen, die jedes Fan Herz höher schlagen lassen. Bei der zweiten DVD handelt es sich um eine Bonus Disc, die die 88-minütige Dokumentation "BEHIND THE BEAST" enthält. Diese wurde von der eigenen MAIDEN Krew unter Führung von Andy Matthews produziert und ist ein interessantes und aufschlussreiches "Home Movie" in hoher Qualität für ihre Fans und zeigt Einblicke in die Vorbereitung einer IRON MAIDEN Tour und wie es hinter den Kulissen einer Show zugeht. Sie beschreibt die außergewöhnliche Geschichte einer der renommiertesten und ehrgeizige Tourneen der Welt.
Sie zeigt den Alltag und die Aufgaben der MAIDEN Killer-Krew und den anderen Köpfen hinter den Kulissen. Die Kompetenz und Erfahrung, die Problemlösungen und Erfolge, die schiere Größe und die immensen Schwierigkeiten des Unterfangens werden durch die tägliche Aufnahmen über die Tour und die Arbeit der Ton-, Licht-, Tischlerei-, Produktions- und Bühnenbild-Crews ans Licht geholt.
Außerdem enthalten sind Interviews mit der IRON MAIDEN Crew, Anekdoten der Band und ihren Fans, sowie Filmmaterial wie man große Live-Bühnen für Stadionkonzerte auf der ganzen Welt aus dem Bauch einer Boeing 757 aufbaut. Die Bonus-DVD enthält auch die Extended Version des Promo-Videos "Satellite 15 ... The Final Frontier", ein Video über die Entstehung von "Satellite 15 ... The Final Frontier" plus die Eröffnungsvideosequenz zu der "The Final Frontier World" Tour.

Die legendäre schwedische Hardcore-Band Refused wird im April 2012 ebenfalls eine Reunion-Show beim Coachella Music And Arts Festival in Indigo, Kalifornien spielen. Außerdem bestättigt ist ein Auftritt im August Way Out West Festival im schwedischen Götheborg. Hier das Statement der Band dazu:
"We had a band once, in Umeå. We would pile in a van, like every other punkband, and thunder off in pursuit of friends and glory in some basement in front of 20 people, 50 people, in towns 4-5 hours away. Sometimes there would be more than a hundred people and we would later in the week refer to that as a "big show". We were ambitious, but we didn't think of it as a career. We never made any fiscal sense whatsoever during 7 years of touring. Like most punkbands, it never occured to us to even try. We had a scene, we had some politics and we had just a hint of artistic ambition. True to our swedish roots we got very serious very fast. And then suddenly we got good. It's a delicate path to tread for precocious twentysomethings anywhere on the planet, but this particular bunch didn't make it. And that was fine. Most enterprises in life are unrelated to incredibly violent rock music.
It's been a motley 14 years since our band came apart. We've all kept busy in our respective endeavors but we've all remained friends and kept in touch. There have been offers, and lots of jokes about these offers. We've sort of looked down from our high horses and made fun of people who've just wanted to share the psychopathic intensity that we would deliver on a nightly basis in our post-pubescent prime. A reunion has just seemed irrelevant to us. Too much other shit to do.
But then Kristofer got his degree from the Swedish opera academy, Jons medical studies began drawing to a close and Dennis and David started a new hardcore band together. Finally, after a decade and a half hiatus, Kristofer picked up the guitar again. Which made David want to play the drums again. Which in turn led to all four of us suddenly making new music in assorted constellations. As all this was brewing, Coachella got in touch. There were a couple of phone-calls, lots of skepticism, some hesitant enthusiasm before one of us basically said: "– This is ridiculous. There are friends of ours who would murder close relatives just to go see bands there. Let's just do it, one last time." And with that, socialist fag-loving pc scumbags were on the road again.
We never did "The shape of punk to come" justice back when it came out, too tangled up in petty internal bickering to really focus on the job. And suddenly there's this possibility to do it like it was intended. We wanna do it over, do it right. For the people who've kept the music alive through the years, but also for our own sakes.
We feel that you deserve it and we hope the feeling is mutual.

Die Bostoner Hardcore Band The Carrier wird sich im kommenden Frühjahr leider auflösen. Vorher gibt's aber noch eine letzte Europa-Tour. Die Band schreibt dazu:
"The Carrier have announced that they are calling it a day. Below is a letter to all of you from the band. The Carrier released three records on Deathwish over the last few years. They will be missed by all of us at the label.
Hi Everyone,
We saw that there were some rumors floating around about us, and figured that now is probably the best time to clear the air:
It's with very mixed emotions that we announce that The Carrier will be breaking up this upcoming March. There are a lot of reasons that have led us to this decision, and it wasn't an easy one. But ultimately, we all share a mutual feeling that we're transitioning into different chapters in our lives—personally and musically. The overall mood of the band has changed profoundly since we first started, and frankly, we can't continue to put forth the passion that we once had.
We were all either sixteen or seventeen years old when this band formed in 2006. After recording our first demo, we sat in our bass player’s basement burning copies, and sent them out to anyone who asked for one over the Internet. Those songs meant everything to us, and we were thrilled that people even cared enough to listen. We didn’t anticipate that we would ever get to play outside of New England. However, since then, we've gotten tour the whole US, Canada, and Europe, released two full lengths and an EP, and got signed to our favorite record label. We are forever thankful that we got to fulfill these opportunities. In short, it's been an extremely unique and compelling coming of age for all of us, and we've made countless memories—good and bad. With that being said, we're getting older, it doesn't feel right to continue playing songs that we wrote in our mid-teens. And sadly, we’re finding it increasingly difficult write new material. Thus, it only feels right that we come to an end.
Thank you to everyone who has helped us along the way: our brothers in The Bonus Army, Rock Vegas Records, Deathwish Inc, Josh Hynes and everyone at Anchors Up, all the bands we've toured with, and, of course, everyone we’ve ever partied with. (It's estimated that we’ve drank at least a million beers and three Olympic sized swimming pools filled with Jager over the past six years). It's been quite a journey, to say the least.
In March, we will be playing a string of European shows, as well as a last show in Boston. Details are soon to come. This has been the most important part of our lives while it lasted. We hope to see you all there to give us some closure.

Killswitch Engage - Sänger Howard Jones verlässt die Band

Die Metalcore-Könige Killswitch Engage haben bekannt gegeben, dass Sänger Howard Jones die Band verlässt. Die Band vermeldet dazu:
"To our family, friends and fans: We have decided to continue on without Howard Jones as the singer of Killswitch Engage. We love Howard and are thankful for the nine years that we've had him in the band. Out of respect for everyone involved we will not be discussing the specific reasons behind this decision. Howard is a part of our family and always will be, and we wish him well. He has left big shoes to fill, so we certainly have our work cut out for us to find the next singer of Killswitch, something we plan on making priority #1 going forward. Most importantly, thanks to all of you for all the support throughout the years and for sticking by us for all this time. "Well, I guess I will shed a little light without going too deep. As some of you may know, I've had a pretty interesting couple of years to say the least battling with some personal issues. One of the low points being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes that went unchecked for years. The rest of the band stuck with me through it, and to be honest they are the ones that kept me going. The whole experience definitely put a scare in me.
Recently we've all been in writing mode but somehow I couldn't get excited about the new album and all the touring that would go with it. The guys saw it before I did. In hindsight I now realize that my heart wasn't in it. I have had an amazing decade with KSE. I love Justin, MikeD, Joel and Adam for hanging in there and standing by me no matter how bad it was. I have so many good memories, and those are the ones that I will keep. Will I be involved in music again? Sure, I have been in bands for a little over half my life, can't stop now. Until then, get the new KsE album, it's going to be good. Thanks everyone for letting me try to entertain you, and I wish myself well in my future endeavors. Gone fishin' Howard"

"What happens when your band falls apart and everything you worked toward is abruptly thrown away? You start a new one! That is exactly what Nathan Gray (Boysetsfire, Casting Out) decided to do once his last musical effort The Casting Out ceased to exist. Not one to sit around and cry about the situation, he decided to move forward and form something completely new. He didn't have to look far though, realizing that his son Simon Gray and fellow bandmate Jonah Latshaw (May 4th Massacre) both were very talented musicians in their own right, he recruited them to start a new band. Going back to the roots of what made Boysetsfire such a powerful force in the punk/hardcore scene, mixed in with the younger metal influence of Simon and Jonah..... I AM HERESY was formed. To help complete the band and take it to the next level, brothers Jay and Crumbs Konieko (The Dead and Gone) were added on Bass and Drums respectively. The last piece to the puzzle to help reinforce such an imposing sound was former (Chambers) guitarist Gregg Kautz. As a whole each band member brings their own unique musical style to form a wall of sound that has and will continue to grow and evolve. I AM HERESY."

Bridge 9 signen The Alligators

Bridge 9 Records haben The Alligators gesignt. Die Band besteht aus Roger Miret (Agnostic Front) und drei Mitgliedern der kalifornischen Straight Edge Hardcore Helden Insted. Bridge 9 hat folgende Pressemitteilung veröffentlicht.
"Four of some of hardcore's most important names from both coasts got together to finally bring back that early 80's hardcore sound; this sound is called The Alligators, and they will be releasing a new record on Bridge Nine in 2012. Featuring members Roger Miret (Agnostic Front), Rich Labbate (Insted), Steve Larson (Insted) and Barret Burt (Insted), The Alligators sound a bit like something that might've been filed in between Miret's primary band, Agnostic Front's, landmark albums United Blood and Victim In Pain and is undoubtedly an old school hardcore band. The Alligators wear their influences on their sleeve - tipping their hat to bands like SSD, Antidote, Negative Approach, Poison Idea, Scream and more. Vocalist Roger Miret commented, "The Alligators has been a fun side project i’ve been doing with the guys from Insted(California Hardcore band from the 80’s) - an odd fit you might think, but make no mistake: those guys are hard. Rich and I have been friends since the early 80’s and periodically talked about doing music together, so this is a record I’ve been meaning to do for a long time coming. With the addition of DYS and Antidote to B9 roster and the re-release of Agnostic Front’s ‘VIP/United Blood’, we are happy to add this to the Bridge Nine family."
The Alligators' debut full-length for Bridge Nine Records, titled Time's Up, You're Dead, is slated to hit stores on March 27th, 2012 and more information regarding album details, new song premieres and upcoming shows will surface soon."

Mein D.I.Y. Hardcore/Punkrock Record Label Break Your Frame Records ist wieder aktiv und hat ein neues virtuelles Zuhause gefunden und zwar HIER .
Unser drittes Release wird das selbstbetitelte Debutalbum der Hardcore/Punk/Crust/Metal-Band Diabolic Heritage aus Saarbrücken sein. Die Band besteht aus (ehemaligen) Mitgliedern von Bands wie Cynical Bastard, BYS, Dead End Tragedy und Point of Inflection und hat kritische, deutschsprachige Texte. Die CD wird Anfang 2011 auf Break Your Frame Records erscheinen.

"Zusätzlich zu den schon bekannt gegebenen Bands Verse, Such Gold und Hazen Street gesellen sich noch Billy Talent, Anti-Flag, Yellowcard, Unearth, Hot Water Music, The Bronx, Versus The World, Make Do & Mend, Trigger Effect, Belvedere und Banquets in die Reihe ein.
Auch für die Akustik-Bühne gibt es ein paar neue Namen: Garret Klahn (Texas is the Reason), Yellowcard, Dave Hause (The Loved Ones) sowie Anti-Flag."
