Epitaph Records vermelden das Signing der Minneaplois Punkrock-Band Off with their heads. Hier das State,emt von Epitaph:
"Epitaph Records is proud to announce the signing of Minneapolis punk band Off With Their Heads. The punk road dogs recently took time off from touring to record their second full length album, with plans for a summer release, but left the engine running for a two month long excursion of US and Canada that begins February 3 (Tour Dates Listed Below).
Formed in 2002, Off With Their Heads went through a slew of musicians before finally cementing the lineup with Ryan Young on vocals/guitar, Justin Francis on drums, Zack Gontard on guitar and Robbie Swartwood on bass. Since their inception, the band has released an impressive catalog of music including seventeen 7"'s, one LP and a few comps, and has toured relentlessly in US, Europe, Canada and Japan for the past five years with bands like Against Me, Youth Brigade, The Bouncing Souls and Municipal Waste to name a few.
It was during Off With Their Heads' 2009 tour with Against Me when the band got the call from Epitaph's owner/president Brett Gurewitz saying that he was a fan of the band.
"Off With Their Heads might be the best punk band going right now, Epitaph needs them; music needs them," says Gurewitz.
"I remember the first time I'd heard of Epitaph," Young adds. "It was when I was in junior high and Rancid had just released Let's Go. I saw the video, and immediately went and bought the record. I got into the compilations, and that started me on the road to finding all these great aggressive catchy punk bands. Living in a small farm town, I had never been exposed to this kind of music before, and from there I learned about punk. I guess you could say Epitaph was my gateway into everything that I would wind up becoming. For that reason alone, I am ecstatic to be a part of one of the biggest influences on my life."
Off With Their Heads are well on their way to carving out their own punk rock story with their modern take on vintage punk fueled anthems. As the band begins the next chapter of their career they took the time to record their best album to date.
"We recorded our record in Minneapolis at a studio called The Terrarium," says Young. "This is where most of the great sounding records that come out of town are recorded. I think the difference between this record and our last one is that we have enough time to make sure everything is tracked and mixed the way we would like it to be. We have never in 6 years had more than 2-3 days in a studio, and there have been parts on every recording that I'd wished we would have fixed and not used the old "good enough" excuse. The songs stylistically are a mix of something from every record, which is great."
When asked about the new music, Young says "it's a good mix of driving aggression and also mid tempo pop. Those are our two strong suits, and I'm hoping they shine through as well as they have in the past. Lyrically, it's about the good and the bad things of the lifestyle that I've chosen for myself."

As I Lay Dying - Neues Album im Frühling 2010

Die Herren von AILD sind fast fertig mit ihrem neuen Album "The Powerless Rise" welches im Frühling 2010 erscheinen soll. Aber lest selber das der Metal Hammer berichtet. "...Im Frühling ist es jetzt endlich soweit – das nächste Studio-Album kommt und wird THE POWERLESS RISE heißen. Fertig ist es allerdings noch nicht, weshalb der VÖ-Termin noch etwas sportlich klingt. Zurzeit wird nämlich noch mit Produzent Adam D. (Killswitch Engage) der letzte Schliff ins Song-Material gebracht. Dafür haben die San Diego Metaller gleich noch eine weitere Tour angekündigt, die gleichzeitig zum Erscheinen von THE POWERLESS RISE passieren soll..."
Bei den Betreibern des Summerbreeze Festival ist auch munteres Bookingtreiben angesagt. Neben dem Regulären 2010er Booking/Lineup wird es abes vorher schon ein Dickes Death Metal Package auf dem Festivalgelände geben. Unleashed werden spielen und jetzt wurde auch Suffercation bestätigt...."Als siebte und letzte Band sind SUFFOCATION in das Programm der Nuclear Blast Labelnacht gerutscht, die bereits am Mittwoch, den 18.08.2010, das Party Tent auf dem SUMMER BREEZE in Schutt und Asche legen wird. SUFFOCATION waren Anfang der 90er eine der ersten Bands, die es schafften, brutalen Death Grind mit Elementen und Stilistiken aus dem Hardcore zu verbinden, ohne damit in beiden Szenen verteufelt zu werden. Es Neuigkeiten von The Sorrow. Die Herren sind wieder neue Songs am schreiben, aber lest selber...
"In Schreiblaune für das dritte Album! Die Österreichischen Amadeus Award 2009 Gewinner THE SORROW haben erst kürzlich zwei neue Videos aus dem Studio auf Youtube gepostet. Momentan schreiben die Vorarlberger an ihrem dritten Album, welches für den Herbst geplant ist. Die Metalcore Helden THE SORROW senden in ihren Videos direkt aus ihrem Proberaum in der Heimat.
Die Videos können ebenfalls auf dem Youtube Channel von THE SORROW angesehen werden.
Anfang 2009 spielten die Jungs zusammen mit Sepultura eine Europatour und am Ende des Jahres noch ihre Headliner Tour durch Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz.
Nach den zwei Hammeralben „Blessings From A Blackende Sky“ (2007) und „Origin Of The Storm“ (2009) dürfen wir 2010 nun gespannt auf ihr drittes Meisterwerk sein, das ebenfalls über Drakkar Records veröffentlicht wird.

Neues Leatherface Album kommt im Februar 2010

Via Big Ugly Fish Records erscheint im Februar 2010 die neue Platte von Leatherface. Hier die Info:
"We are pleased to announce that the first release on Big Ugly Fish Recording's will be the long awaited album from Leatherface. Stefan Mush, Graeme Philliskirk, Dickie Hammond and Frankie Stubbs have been in the studio putting together 12 tracks and the release date is penciled in for February 2010. The album was recorded in the same studio as Dog Disco with Fred Purser behind the sliders!
The album and band merchandise will be available from this site and Plastichead will be distributing the new album throughout Europe. In Japan, CR Japan will be Licensing/ distributing, Australia Poison City, and in the US and Canada we are in talks with No Idea about them handling the Lisence & distribution over the big pond.
The band kick off this year in East Canada and the East coast US (please see tour dates) with "Yesterday's Ring" playing all the dates with Leatherface. Both bands have agreed to do a split vinyl for the tour and will have one song each

Walter Schreifels bei Arctic Rodeo Recordings

Walter Schreifels (Gorilla Biscuits, Quicksand, Rival Schools, Walking Concert, Youth of Today) wird sein Soloalbum beim deutschen Laben Arctic Rodeo Recordings veröffentlichen, wo er sich mit Bands wie Solea, Able Baker Fox oder God fires man in guter Gesellschaft befindet. Das Label schreibt dazu folgendes:
"Wir sind stolz, für das kommende Frühjahr die Veröffentlichung des Soloalbums von WALTER SCHREIFELS auf Arctic Rodeo Recordings ankündigen zu dürfen. Das ehemalige Bandmitglied von Quicksand, Gorilla Biscuits, Walking Concert und Youth Of Today ist derzeit wieder als Frontmann von Rival Schools aktiv und hat außerdem mittlerweile sein erstes Soloalbum mit dem vielversprechenden Titel An Open Letter To The Scene fertiggestellt. Dass wir ganz mächtig stolz auf unser neues Album sind, wisst ihr ja bereits. Jetzt steht allerdings endlich auch der Releasetermin fest: „The Long Way Home“, so der programmatische Titel, wird am 26.03.2010 veröffentlicht und steht damit fast auf den Tag genau zwei Jahre nach „Coma Chameleon“ in den Läden!
Wir sind vor lauter Vorfreude schon ganz wuschig und präsentieren euch hiermit das grandiose Coverartwork.
Ab sofort erstrahlt auch unsere Myspaceseite www.myspace.com/donots in gänzlich neuem „Pre-Release“-Licht.
Dieses Licht ist wunderwunderhübsch, inspiriert vom Albumartwork und jeden Tag mindestens einen Klick wert. Also, ab dafür!

"TAAS RIP
It's with a heavy heart we tell you that These Arms Are Snakes is no more. It's been a great run and we'd like to send out a very hearty "Thank You" to everyone that we've worked with or anyone that we've toured with; anyone that lent us a floor, towed our van and/or trailer, lent a van, given us a listen, downloaded our records prior to their coming out, bought our shit, or asked us where our band name came from; everyone who cooked us food, made habanero-infused tequila, had a safety meeting with us, let Steve gyrate all over you, had to live with any of us, made us pay shitloads of money to get off your punk label, got us into LOST, found Steve drunkenly wandering the streets of Tokyo alone, played Madlibs in the van (plural nouns), lost money promoting one of our shows, took Chris to the hospital, put up with our drunken sorry asses, got into a fight with us, etc. etc.
This band could not have been possible without all of you. We sincerely thank you.
88 Fingers Louie kommen nach Europa und basteln an neuen Songs

Die Chicagoer Punkrock Legende 88 Fingers Louie haben sich nach ihrer Reunionshow im August vergangenen Jahres dazu entschlossen, weitere Shows zu spielen. Außerdem wird man beim diesjährigen Groezrock Festival in Belgien zum ersten Mal seit über 10 Jahren wieder in Europa zu sehen sein und arbeitet auch an neuen Songs. Lest die ganze Info der Band:
"Another amazing show last night, thanks to our fans.
All I can say is "Wow." Since we did our 10-year reunion show back in August, our fans have continually welcomed us back with open arms. Last night was another testament to that. We have played 4 shows so far, and each one has been sold out. Back in early 2009, our original thoughts were just to play one reunion show for all of our fans that have been requesting it over many years. Now, because of all of you showing so much support for us, we have decided to keep it going.
We are not exactly sure what the future holds for us, but I can definitely say that we are hoping to do more than just a local Chicago show every few months. There has been talk of new songs, more shows around the US & Canada, and even a European tour.
We have just been confirmed to play the Groezrock festival in Belgium on April 24. So if you are in Europe, here is your first chance to see us in over 10 years.

Die New York Hardcore Urgesteine Sick of it all haben ihr neues Album "Based on a true story" für April 2010 angekündigt. Außerdem steht eine Europa-Tour im Vorprogramm der Dropkick Murphys und eine UK-Tour mit AFI an. Hier die News der Band:
"SICK OF IT ALL has dubbed its forthcoming new album “Based On A True Story”. This massive slab of irresistible hardcore hymns will be released via Century Media Records in April 2010, so stay tuned for more info on this album!
Furthermore, SICK OF IT ALL will kick off their European tour with Dropkick Murphys this week, so come out to these shows for an unforgettable lesson in hardcore! This will be followed up by an extensive UK run with AFI.
SICK OF IT ALL have also launched a special contest, which allow you – the fans – to ask SICK OF IT ALL anything you ever wanted to know about the band! Die Hardcore Truppe Final Fight wird sich nach einigen finalen Shows ebenfalls auflösen. Hier das kurze Statement von Panic Records, dem Label der Band:
"Final Fight have decided that it's time to call it a day and have announced their final dates. Final Fight will surely be missed. As timeless as music is, at least we'll have their records to revisit.
Dates are up on the Panic Records website that include a handful of California dates with their last show being March 5th, 2010 at Chain Reaction in Anaheim, CA. Definitely will not be a show that you'll want to miss."

Die Berliner Hardcore Band Make it Count hat sich leider aufeglöst. Lest das Statement der Band:
"hallo zusammen,
nachdem uns einige angeschrieben und sich gewundert haben, ob es sich hierbei um einen scherz oder ähnliches handelt, wollen wir die ganze sache nicht ganz unkommentiert lassen.
wir haben uns gestern dazu entschlossen make it count! nicht mehr weiterfortzufüh....ren. gründe dafür gibt es viele, hauptgrund ist allerdings einfach die mangelnde zeit für die band. wir alle sind älter geworden und unsere schwerpunkte im leben haben sich verschoben. jeder von uns muss seine miete bezahlen oder gar ein richtiges familienleben führen, so dass make it count! mit vollem einsatz einfach so nicht mehr möglich gewesen ist.
da wir der meinung waren, dass dies der band nicht mehr gerecht werden würde, mussten wir uns leider hierfür entscheiden.
wir wollen uns an dieser stelle bei allen leuten bedanken, die uns solange die treue gehalten haben, egal wieviel wahrheiten, aber auch unwahrheiten über uns erzählt worden sind. danke geht raus an jeden einzelnen, der uns geholfen hat unseren traum ein stückchen mehr zu leben. danke an die vielen, vielen netten leute, die wir im laufe der zeit treffen durften und für den herzlichen empfang den ihr uns meistens bereitet habt.

Lange drauf gewartet, endlich ist es soweit: Der Frontman von No Use For A Name, Tony Sly, veröffentlicht am 16. Februar sein Solo Album "12 Song Program" auf Fat Wreck Chords. Zusammen mit Joey Cape (Lagwagon) und Jon Snodgrass (Drag the River) ist er im Februar und März auf großer Europa Tournee.

Textures: Sänger Eric Kalsbeek verlässt die Band

Leider gibt es traurige Nachrichten zu Textures. Sänger Eric verlässt die Band.
Singer Eric Kalsbeek has left Textures to focus on his job and his family. He’s issued the following statement:
"Dear fans & friends, I decided to quit Textures. My life changed, priorities shifted. I can’t cope with the heavy touring and the time investment anymore. I need to focus on my job and family. I need to take a few steps back. I’ve had six beautiful years with the band, did loads of amazing shows, made tons of new friends and created some mind-blowing music. I’m going to miss the guys, and of course you, the fans. I know Textures will continue to conquer the world and give you all great, heavy and awesome music. I wish my successor all the best.
I will keep on making music, but something totally different, much more low-profile. Maybe we will meet again. Eric out”
We are currently auditioning a possible replacement singer and hope to announce him in the coming months. We will miss Eric a lot.. We had the greatest times together and these will live on in eternity.. Eric, you rock!!!!
Due to Eric leaving Textures the release date for the follow up of Silhouettes has been pushed back to the beginning of 2011.

Killswitch Engage - Headliner beim 12. Rock am Bach im Saarland

Seit ein paar Wochen ist es raus. Killswitch Engage werden auf dem kommenden Rock Am Bach im Saarland spielen. Lest selber was der Veranstalter schreibt. Quelle:Garage-SB: Der erste Headliner des 12. Rock am Bach Festivals ist die zurzeit einflussreichste und größte Metalcore-Band der Welt. KILLSWITCH ENGAGE (USA) ruhen sich nicht auf ihrer daumendicken Lorbeer-Matratze aus, obwohl sie es durchaus könnten. Vielmehr legten sie Mitte des Jahres mit ihrem selbstbetitelten Album ihren mittlerweile fünften Longplayer nach. Und um die Sensation endgültig perfekt zu machen, bleibt an dieser Stelle noch bescheiden zu erwähnen, dass die Band Rock am Bach als einzige Festivalshow in West- und Süddeutschland spielt und darüber hinaus als eine von nur zwei exklusiven Festivalshows in 2010 in Deutschland überhaupt. Damit ist das erste Bandpaket mit WIZO, CONVERGE, SONDASCHULE und den eben genannten KILLSWITCH ENGAGE erstmal komplett! Eigentlich wollten wir euch heute noch einige weiteren Kracher präsentieren und rechnen eigentlich weiterhin stündlich mit weiteren Bestätigungen aus den USA. Da wir aber natürlich Wort halten wollen, geben wir euch bei KSE nun erstmal Planungssicherheit. Small Brown Bike Reunion

Die großartigen Small Brown Bike aus Michigan haben sich wieder zusammengetan und auch gleich eine neue 7" unter dem Titel "Composite, Volume One" mit zwei neuen Songs auf No Idea Records veröffentlicht. Hier das Statement der Band zur Reunion:
"Hi friends,
First off, thanks for the good words over the last month. It's awesome to know that there are still people out there listening. You all rule.
We just wanted to add some more details about what's happening. To make a long story short, the original lineup (Mike, Ben, Travis, Dan) is back together and working on new music. Over the last few months we've been writing a ton of new stuff and currently have about ten new songs finished plus a bunch more in various stages. We're all really excited about how it's going. So far, so good!
The bottom line for us is to have fun, write music, and play a few shows here and there. Just like we did when we started the band. Keep it simple.
So that's what's happening. Thanks again for listening. See you at the shows!
xGracex lösen sich auf

Die Kasseler Straight Edge Hardcore Band xGracex hat ihre Auflösung bekannt gegeben. Die letzten beiden Shows finden heute und morgen statt. Das Statement der Band liest sich wie folgt:
" Hello out there.
Oh boy, over the last couple of months it was awfully quiet about this little band called XGRACEX.
Are we still there?
Yes, but not for much longer...
After 4 Years, a demo-tape, a 7”, a CD and almost 80 Shows we are going to put XGRACEX to a rest. Over the last year our personal lifes made it very difficult for us to actually “be” a band (hanging out, practicing, writing songs...), and with an honest look at the near future, it’s not going to be any better.
So before we got completely lost or slowly fade away we’ll better end it! there are no hard feelings, no shit-talking, we started the band as friends and we still will be after we ended it.
We were writing and also recorded new songs over the past months and they won't be lost. but they are not going vinyl as we planned. 6 new songs will be on a last demo tape for your audible pleasure – you can say we’ll finish as we started (with a demo) ...
We will play two last shows:
the first one on Dec. 29th in our hometown Kassel with EVENWORSE, REQUEST and THE HEARTBREAK KID, and the very last show for XGRACEX will be the EVENWORSE/GOLDUST-split LP Release show on Dec. 30th in Osnabrück.
Will we have a musical life after XGRACEX? For sure, but right now we can’t tell. Marco and Tim are still pretty busy with TODAY FOREVER, Andy is working on some Metal tunes ... so we'll see.
Anyway ...
With all our heart we thank everyone who cared about us, everyone who came out and sang along, all the bands we played with, all the clubs and promoters, Volker FILEDS OF HOPE for everything, and Daniel EvenWorse for helping us out several times on guitar.

Midsummer Records hat das neue Album "Reverence for fallen dreams" von The Black Atlantic inklsuive dem kompletten Artwork zum kostenlosen Download ins Netz gestellt. Bei The Black Atlantic handelt es sich um die neue Band des ehemaligen Shai Hulud Shouters Geert van der Velde, die allerdings ganz andere Musik machen. Sehr relaxt, zurückgenommen und extrem ruhig.
