The Haunted - Road Kill DVD/CD, Neuer Song online

Schwedens Thrash-Metal-Act #1, THE HAUNTED, haben sich pünktlich zur Europatour als Direkt-Support von SLAYER mit der grandiosen Live DVD/CD „Road Kill“ eindrucksvoll zurück gemeldet. Die DVD beinhaltet eine ausführliche, einzigartige „On The Road“ Dokumentation, eine intensive THE HAUNTED Live-Show sowie Promo-Videoclips als Bonus. Die fantastische Hauptshow wurde am 13.2.2009 von Fabchannel im Amsterdamer Melkweg aufgenommen, für den Sound war der langjährige Bandproduzent Tue Madsen verantwortlich (Sick Of It All, Dark Tranquillity, Heaven Shall Burn). Die CD beinhaltet die gesamte Live-Show und 5 bisher unveröffentlichte oder rare Songs aus den „Versus“ Aufnahmen. Gleich die nächste schlecht Meldung hinterher. Auch die Berliner Hardcore/Punk Band We once loved wird sich leider auflösen. Hier das Statement der Band:
"We are really sorry to announce the end of WEONCELOVED as a band.
We always wanted WEONCELOVED to be a faithful and passionate band, but now we all are heavily disturbed by so much "shit" to do and obligations to fulfill and other circumstances necessary to make a living, that we can no longer assure to continue with all our heart and love.
...WEONCELOVED will not be a healfhearted/by-the-way project!
That's why we figured to go separate ways musical wise. We of course will remain friends...
We want to thank so many people, who helped us out and became friends throughout the past 4 years...
To every band, which became more than a band we just played with... Every promoter, who became more than somebody who booked a show for us... You all know who you are. We love and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

* MC Lars bekommt den Slot von Mustard Plug (zwischen 12:30 – 13:05 Uhr auf der Main Stage) – und spielt trotzdem ein (Laptop)-Set um 16

Snapcase canceln Europa-Tour wegen des Flugverbots über Europa

Snapcase mussten leider ihre Europa-Tour absagen auf Grund des Flugverbots wegen des Vulkanausbruchs auf Island. Die Tour soll hoffentlich im Laufe des Jahres nachgeholt werden. Hier das Statement der Band dazu:
"Devastating news. unfortunately we are forced to cancel our entire trip to europe. we've been told by our airline that even if flights were to resume today it would be impossible to get us on a flight for at least a week and probably not until early may. this of course is a huge disappointment for us all and we are deeply sorry to all our fans.
We are currently working with our booking agent in europe to hopefully make good on the cancelled shows at a later date. hopefully we will see you all soon."

The band will enter the studio to record new material to be released early next year. Das italienische Hardcore-Label Hurry Up Records vermeldet das Signing der französischen Melodic Punk/Hardcore Band No Guts No Glory. Das Lebel hat dazu folgendes zu sagen:
"We are very happy to announce the signing of the first French band ever in our roster: hailing from Valence and Paris NO GUTS NO GLORY.
We always loved melodic hardcore and when Iano from Famine gave us the heads up on this band, we couldn't pass...these guys seriously know what they are doing and they manage somehow to refresh a bit the classic melodic punk/hardcore style.

Taking Back Sunday in alter Besetzung

Taking Back Sunday vermelden den Ausstieg von Bassist Matt Rubano und Gitarrist Matt Fazzi. Nachfolger sind Shaun Cooper und John Nolan, die bis 2003 bereits zur Band gehörten, dann aber ausgestiegen waren, um Straylight Run zu gründen.

"To everyone in the TBS family, it is with great sadness I am announcing today that I am no longer a part of Taking Back Sunday. The last 2 years with Taking Back Sunday have been beyond a dream come true, from touring and playing with bands that I really admire, to playing new places all around the world, to meeting and working with so many wonderful people along the way. It’s something that I never once took for granted and that I will never forget. I want to thank Eddie, Matt, Adam and Mark for giving me the chance to play and make music with them, if even for a short while. We’ve accomplished a lot in a short time that I will forever be proud of. Thanks to everyone involved for making this such a beautiful experience for me, especially YOU, the fans. You have been so warm and receptive to me since I joined and for this I am forever grateful. As for me, I will continue on with my own music and I hope to see some of your smiling faces around soon.

Back in the Great Depression, responsible, successful men became vagrants. Everyone was cast out like an economic-turned-social eclipse. When these people without homes or any sentiments of hope couldn’t find a safe place to sleep at night during these trivial times, their only option left was to “carry the banner.” This meant they’d risk sleeping on the streets while trying to avoid being locked up for vagrant charges or worse, being killed.
We’re lucky enough to live in a time where the world is a bit more stable than it was back then, but people need to remember we’re not too far off from where we were back then. What we do with our lives – play music and travel the world – we basically live like homeless buskers for 8 months out of the year. Our new album Cavalcade was partly inspired by reading about those dire times during the Great Depression and realizing just how many parallels there are in these times we live in today. And our new song “Carry The Banner” fully embodies the theme of positivity in uncertain times. Negativity is overrated."

Neue Spermbirds Platte im Sommer

Die Lauterer Hardcore/Punk-Legende Spermbirds hat bereits fleissig Songs für eine neue Platte geschriben. Im Mai/Juni soll es dann ins Studio gehen und wenn alles gut läuft, soll das Werk im August in den Läden stehen. Hier das Statement der Band:
"So fellas, what some of us were doubting to get it done in time finally worked. In an almost 15 hours practise over two days we managed to play and arrange all the last 13 songs of our songlist. So, 27 songs are on the list and we are extremly excited but also scared to know, that we have to vote for only 18 songs to record for the upcoming record.
You might ask “Why not record all songs”? Because studiotime costs money and last time we spent 6 days more than planned and that was too much. We anyway always had the policy to only record the best – at least best in our oppinion.
This last practise was quiet funny because I personal started thinking we`re getting a fucking Jazzband playing strange accords or melodies making my fingers stretching to almost bleed. There are songs I know already won`t be fun for me to play live but that`s worth it giving you some cool tunes.
Proofing the fact to get “jazzy” is when Beppo explains verses like “the arrangement in parts is A A – B B – A A – B B – C C – D D – E E – F F”. Understand? And that was only the verse. But don`t be afraid, there is a lot of bad dirty punkrockin shit and massive aggression in songs. Yes, old men but still very angry and powerfull. But now comes the time to choose 18 songs wich is a nightmare. I already have a yes crossed on almost all songs. Fuck. But there is a plan to release those other songs on a EP later. We will see.
Beppo will practise for himself on the drums these days and we will get together another two weekends to work on the details of the voted songs. Middle of May is the beginning of the recordings wich hopefully will be done end of June. A hell lot of work beside writing lyrics, recording, mixing, mastering, coverartwork, videoclips, getting everything ready to be released middle to end of August. And than hopefully this tour, we still can`t talk about will take place all over Europe end of September (not England, Spain or France yet, sorry).

Das saarländische Rock am Bach Festival hat einige News zu verkünden. Neben den Bands und Infos für den Vorentscheid, wurden mit Sick of it all, Danko Jones und War of Ages drei weitere Bands bestätigt. Hier die komplette Info:

Die Teilnehmer des diesjährigen Vorentscheides stehen fest. Sechs Bands werden am Freitag, 23. April in der Schloßberghalle in Wadern-Büschfeld um zwei Plätze im Line Up des 12. Rock am Bach Festivals kämpfen. Die Entscheidung wird, wie immer, zu 2/3 von einer Experten-Jury und zu 1/3 von den Besuchern getroffen. Als Special Guests werden die beiden Vorjahressieger HARDCUT und SADDEST MESSIAH am Start sein und gleich zu Beginn und zur Stimmenauswertung die Bühne rocken. Aus weit über 100 Bewerbern wurden folgende Bands für die Endrunde ausgewählt:

Die großartigen The Golden Age aus Corpus Christi/Texas haben leider ihren Abschied zu vermelden. Lest das Statement der Band:
" The Golden Age is calling it quits...
Hey everybody, The Golden Age is breaking up. Rather than going into all the various reasons I'm just going to say that it's just that time. We're all still friends, and we all still love the music that we've made together. We will be playing a final show May 1st(Free Comic Book Day),not sure exactly where but it will be here in Corpus. It will be on a Saturday, so to everyone who might want to come from different cities, you've got a 3 month heads up!
When my brother and I started this band at the end of 2003 I had no intention of taking this band that seriously. I just wanted to start a band people could circle pit to and I wanted to watch The Contender for free. But somehow this band grew and grew and kept on going taking on a life of it's own. I am nothing short of AMAZED at the impact this band and our music have had on myself and on other people. I've had numerous people tell me that The Trust gave them the strength to make it through, and we've had strangers from across the world send us messages telling us that we're their favorite band. It makes me feel truly fulfilled.
Words can't fully express the amount of gratitude we owe to all the people who have made being in this band so much fun. We wouldn't have lasted these last six years without you. Whether you were singing along, dancing, booking a show for us(at home or on tour), buying our merch, giving us a place to stay, feeding us, letting us borrow your equipment or just taking the time to give us a few kind words(at shows or by sending us an email). They really made this whole thing feel worth it.
Now a little bit of good news. The music isn't quite finished. T.G.A. will be recording one last new song at the end of this month and it will be available for free download. Also, Shaggy, Eric, Gabe(my brother and original T.G.A. drummer) and I have started a new band. It's called Time On Fire and we'll be recording a few songs very soon. They will also be available for free download. We'll keep everyone posted on when all this free music will be up.
So to Panic Records, Hellfish, our families, our friends(you know who you are) all of the awesome bands we've had the pleasure of playing with(you know who you are) and especially to EVERYONE who ever played in this band, on behalf of Shaggy, Eric, Addrian, Cramer and myself, THANK YOU.

The Sorrow - Vorproduktion zum 3 Album fertig

Die österreichischen Metaller THE SORROW haben die Vorproduktion zu ihrem kommenden dritten Album abgeschlossen. Anfang Mai geht es dann für die Jungs in das Principal Studio in Senden (u.a. Die Toten Hosen, In Extremo, Blind), um wieder zusammen mit Toni Meloni zu arbeiten. Der Nachfolger von „Origin Of The Storm“, (welches letztes Jahr im März auf Platz 56 in die deutschen Media Control Charts eingestiegen ist), wird im Herbst 2010 über Drakkar Records veröffentlicht.
Lead-Gitarrist Andi Mäser dazu: “Als wir “Origin Of The Storm” recorded hatten, mussten wir viele Sachen nebenher noch erledigen, sodass wir uns nicht voll auf das Album konzentrieren konnten. Dadurch gerieten wir immer mehr unter Druck und ich denke auch, dass man das auf der Platte hört. Diesen Fehler wollten wir bei unserem dritten Album aber nicht machen, deswegen nahmen wir uns viel Zeit um den Fokus nur auf das Songwriting zu legen.
Sänger und Gitarrist Mätze Schlegel zur weiteren Zusammenarbeit mit Produzent Toni Meloni: „Es gibt keinen besseren Produzenten für diese Band. Toni steht uns von Anfang an zur Seite. Er ist ein ganz Großer in dieser Musikrichtung, in der wir beheimatet sind. Weiterhin pushed uns Toni zu immer größeren Leistungen, das wird auch auf diesem Album so sein.
Bevor die Band letztes Jahr zu schreiben begonnen hatte, haben THE SORROW noch einen exklusiv Gig für ihre Heimat-Fan-Base gespielt. Die komplette Show im Event Center in Hohenems wurde für einen Onlinerelease gefilmt. Nun gibt es den ersten Vorgeschmack, denn ab sofort kann „Far Beyond The Days Of Grace“ angesehen werden. Die New Yorker Hardcore Legende Yuppicide wird am 15. Mai bei der Black'n'Blue Bowl in New York City ihre Reunion-Show spielen. Weitere Shows in den Staaten und auch eine Europa-Tour ist in Planung. Hier das offizielle Statement:

„Death or Jail“ über Freunde von uns, die leider unter die Räder
kamen und entweder sich selbst zerstörten oder im Knast landeten. Wir alle
kennen Menschen, die riesige Fehler begangen haben und das Warum ist oftmals eine
sehr schwierige Frage, gerade wenn man gemeinsam aufgewachsen ist und aus denselben
Verhältnissen kam. Sie haben nicht nur ihren Freunden den Rücken zugekehrt,
sondern auch sich selbst und sich somit einer Welt ausgesetzt, die nichts kennt
außer Stress, Gewalt und Wahnsinn. Wir haben das Glück, Hardcore als

Throughout the first two years of their existence, Reignition has been fine tuning their lineup, crafting new material, and heading out on the occasional tour. Having caught the attention of Think Fast! Records, the result is their upcoming 7” single, “The Epitome Of Free Will”. Think Fast! co-owner Ryan O’Connor comments on the signing:
“I think what stood out the most about Reignition is the fact that they’re playing a style of hardcore that’s so far from popular. They clearly don’t care what anyone thinks and it’s hard not to respect that. Most of the guys are really young, they’re super motivated, and their new songs are really, really good. It’s not every day you come across thought-provoking bands and we’re really excited about developing Reigniton.”

The Haunted auf Europatour mit Slayer; arbeiten an DVD/Live CD! Die Schweden THE HAUNTED werden nun definitiv ab Mai mit den mächtigen Slayer durch Europa touren, nachdem die Daten mehrfach verschoben wurden. Zudem sind schon zahlreiche Festivaltermine bestätigt – unten findet ihr alle aktuellen Daten. Des Weiteren arbeitet die Band an einer fantastischen DVD/Live CD mit dem Namen „Road Kill“, die demnächst erscheinen wird, mehr Details zu dieser Veröffentlichung folgen in den kommenden Wochen!

"One Last Time, Lose Your Minds.
Dearest friends from all corners of the world,
I write to inform you that after nearly 9 years, 5 full-lengths, 2 bass players, hundreds of shows, and numerous other achievements and follies, Andrew, Frank, and I have decided to end our career as The Fall of Troy.
This band has been my life, my love, the air I breathe, the food I eat, and what helps me sleep (and sometimes keeps me up) at night. I love and cherish the music we've made, the times we've had, and all the great friends we've met along the way. Andrew, Frank, and of course Tim, will always and forever have a special place in my heart. But it has come time for us to call it a day. After everything's said and done, there is no drama, there is no blow out, it's simply the three members of this band are on three different paths in our lives.
I always hold true to the fact that it's better to go out in style, to ride off into the sunset, than go down in flames. This tour coming up with Envy On The Coast and Twin Atlantic will be our last go round, and we really hope that all of you will come out and celebrate what has been so unreal and unbelievable – let's dance one last time!
We would really like to thank everyone that's ever been involved with the band, managed the band, booked a show for us, let us eat your canned food, sleep on your floor, asked us for a picture, caught me when I've almost been dropped, put out a record for us, driven us through a late night drive thru, or anything else any of you could possibly look back on and enjoy what this band was...Fun.
So make sure you come out to "The Marked-Men of 2010 Tour" as it will be our last hurrah! We love you, and will be giving as much love as you've given to us at these shows. So that's that! We love you with all our hearts, thank you from the very bottom of them, and goodbye comrades.
