Teamkiller lösen sich auf

Nach Black Friday 29 vermeldet mit dem Stuttgarter Hardcore-Aushängeschild Teamkiller bereits die zweite Speerspitze der deutschen Hardcore-Landschaft innerhalb eines Monats ihr Ende. Schade, schade. Vorher erscheint aber noch im November via Let it Burn Records ihr Abschiedsalbum "Bound to Samsara". Wir halten euch auf dem Laufenden, ob noch eine Abschiedsshow stattfinden wird. Das Statement der Band lautet:
"All material life comes to an end. For TEAMKILLER it is now about time to break the cycle of samsara and call it a day.
We have gone through a long, constant metamorphosis and experienced continous growth, both, as a band and as spiritual beings. The release of our final album "Bound To Samsara" in November 2010 on Let it Burn Records marks the last stage of this process. We strongly feel connected to this album and also to the decision that it is the right time to disband at this point.
We are deeply thankful for all the people who supported us on our way and share our spirit, all the great experiences we were allowed for and will avail ourselves of them for a lifetime. However, we know that we can only come full circle with a last tour and final show. It is our deepest wish to offer you an insight of what "Bound to Samsara" is capable of and share its sheer energy and spirit with you. We are currently in the stage of getting everything settled, more news and final tourdates in the works.

Dag Nasty - Neue Platte mit ganz alten Aufnahmen

Via Dischord Records wird demnächst eine neue Dag Nasty Scheibe unter dem Ttitel "Dag with Shawn". Zu hören gibt es allerdings kein neues Material, sondern 9 Songs der "Can i say", die bereits 1985 mit dem ersten Sänger Shawn Brown aufgenommen und ursprünglich für eine 7" eingespielt wurden. Ein genauer Veröffentlichungstermin steht noch nicht fest.
Mikroboy - Video zur neuen Single "Nichts ist umsonst"

Mikroboy haben als dritte Single ihres Debutalbums den Song "Nichts ist umsonst" ausgewählt. Passend dazu wurde auch gerade der entsprechende Videoclip veröffentlicht. Außerdem wird die Band mit eben diesem Song auch am TV Total Bundesvisionsongcontest im Oktober für das Saarland an den Start gehen.

Insomnium: Unterschreiben bei Century Media Records

Die finnischen Melodic Death Metaller von Insomnium haben letzte Woche einen weltweiten Vertrag bei Century Media Records unterschrieben.
(Quelle: CMR) Century Media Records geben mit Stolz ihr neuestes Signing INSOMNIUM bekannt, die Anfang diesen Jahres bei den Finnischen Metal Awards in den Kathegorien "Beste Band" und "Bestes Album" (der 2009 erschienene Longplayer "Across The Dark") erfolgreich abgeräumt haben. Die Band kommentiert: "Wir freuen uns sehr darüber zu verkünden, dass wir bei Century Media Records unterschrieben haben. Den ganzen Frühling und Sommer über haben wir mit mehreren interessanten Plattenlabels verhandelt, aber am Ende war klar, dass Century Media Records unser neues Zuhause sein wird für die nächsten Jahre, die da kommen werden. Ihr Enthusiasmus, ihre Professionalität und ihre aufrichtige Liebe zur Musik haben sofort einen bleibenden Eindruck bei uns hinterlassen. Wir sind überzeugt davon, dass uns dieses Bündnis nach vorne bringen wird und auch die Möglichkeit mit sich bringt, deutlich häufiger außerhalb Europas touren zu können. Über die letzten Jahre haben sich INSOMNIUM langsam aber sicher einen echten Namen unter den Melodic Death-Metallern erarbeitet. 1997 im verschlafenen Ort Joensuun, im Osten Finnlands, gegründet, haben diese entschlossenen Männer seitdem immer wieder die Grenzen des Genres neu definiert. Zwei äußerst gefeierte Demos setzten die Messlatte bereits hoch an, bevor dann 2001 ein Plattenvertrag mit dem britischen Label Candlelight Records unterschrieben wurde.
Zu diesem Zeitpunkt erweiterten die Gründungsmitglieder Markus Hirvonen (Drums), Ville Friman (Guitars) und Niilo Sevänen (Vocals und Bass) ihr Line-Up um den Gitarristen Ville Vänni. Seitdem haben INSOMNIUM vier stark bejubelte Alben herausgebracht, auf denen Aggressionen und gewaltige Riffs mit einer melancholischen Atmosphäre kombiniert werden – eine Hochzeit skandinavischen Death Metals und traditioneller finnischer Elemente, eingängig aber progressiv, melodisch aber brutal.
Nach langen Tourneen in Europa und Nord-Amerika mit Bands wie Amorphis, Katatonia, Enslaved, Satyricon und ihrer letzte Co-Headliner Tournee mit Ghost Brigade, werden INSOMNIUM diesen Herbst der Hauptsupport für Dark Tranquillity sein, bevor es zurück ins Studio geht, um den Nachfolger zu ihrem 2009 erschienenen Album „Across The Dark“ aufzunehmen. "Beloved audience,
this is an exciting day for us. You surely took notice that we completely reworked our myspace and, more importantly, uploaded a brand new song to our player. It is called “Fine Feathers Make Fine Birds” and is the first omen of the new album we’ve been working on for almost a year now. We can’t wait to hear you sing along with us on this one…
Our new album is going to be titled “Detention” and will be released in early 2011. The label who is almost as much as us looking forward to this, is REDFIELD RECORDS. That’s right, after 3 years on Lifeforce Records it was time to move on with the band. Being the only ‘non-metal-band’ on a straight up metal label gave us a hard time and our prospects were more and more limited. However we’re deeply thankful for everything Stefan / Lifeforce did for us. He was one of the first persons to believe in The Blackout Argument and helped us a lot to get to where we are right now.
So we found our new home at REDFIELD RECORDS and it seems to be just the perfect environment for us to release “Detention”. Kai & Alex are awesome people who put a lot of passion and effort in what they do. We’re on the same wavelength in a lot of ways, which is a great thing. To not to reveal too much yet, just a few words on our new baby “Detention”… After more than a year of hard work and creative strain we’re now done with recording and mixing the album. Of course it’s impossible to have an objective view on your own work of art but after taking into consideration the opinions of some honest and “no-bullshit”-friends of ours we can claim that “Detention” is, without any doubt, by far the best album we ever recorded. “Slowing down” and “focusing on the essential”, both as individuals and musicians, really paid off for us in the end. The album is full of power and lovely detail, especially on its melodic side, which is quite predominant this time. The Sorrow: Neues Album am 29.10.2010

Am 29.10. erscheint nun das dritte, selbstbetitelte THE SORROW Album „The Sorrow“ über Drakkar / Sony. Für Andi, Dominik, Mätze und Tobi schlägt mit diesem Werk die Stunde der Wahrheit. Nach dem überraschenden Erfolg von „Blessings from a Blackened Sky“, ein traumhafter Start für die damals völlig unbekannte Formation aus Vorarlberg, und „Origin of the Storm“, auf dem sie ihren Sound perfektionierte und die Essenz ihres damaligen Schaffens vereinte, will es die Band nun wissen.
THE SORROW haben sich neu definiert und sind sich dabei doch treu geblieben. Die klassischen Rezepte haben einem unbändigen Willen, neues Terrain zu beschreiten, Platz gemacht. 13 einzigartige Songs, die alles in sich vereinen, was Metal großartig macht, sind dabei entstanden. Iron Maiden: Themenabend auf DMAX 13.08.2010

Am kommenden Freitag, dem 13ten August 2010, bekommen die britischen Metal-Heroen IRON MAIDEN sogar einen eigenen Themenabend beim Männersender DMAX (Discovery Networks Deutschland), „Die Heavy Metal Nacht mit IRON MAIDEN“: Quelle: CMM/EMI
Im Rahmen der Sonderprogrammierung wird neben der DMAX-Doku „Wahnsinn Wacken - Ein Dorf im Heavy Metal Fieber“ erstmals im deutschen Free-TV die ausgezeichnete IRON MAIDEN Rock-Doku „Flight 666“ (von Banger Films) aus dem Jahr 2009 gezeigt. Diese Rockumentary wird in der ungekürzten Fassung mit einer Spielzeit von 113 Minuten ausgestrahlt. Das ist IRON MAIDEN pur und hautnah. Das größte Rock-Abenteuer der jüngeren Musik-Geschichte: 20.000 Meilen, 1 World Tour, 1 Flieger, 1 Band, 1 Frontmann als Pilot. Ein absolutes Muss für jeden Musik-Fan. Dieser Themenabend wird acht Tage vor Ausstrahlung massiv vom Sender betrailert.

Behemoth: Nergal erkrankt, alle Termin bis November abgesagt

Frontmann Nergal ist ernsthaft erkrankt, Behemoth müssen alle Dates bis einschließlich November absagen. Leider fällt dort auch das Summer Breeze Festival drunter. Als Ersatz auf dem Breeze wird Endstille spielen. Folgendes hat Nergal verlauten lassen (Quelle: Summer Breeze) Hier ein Statement von Nergal direkt: „I’d like to announce that Behemoth won’t be able to tour for the forseeable future. I don’t wanna bore you with details here, but I’m sick and am receiving some serious medical treatment. It’s gonna take another few weeks or more for full recovery, and so we have been forced to cancel all the Behemoth shows in August, planned dates in Russia and Baltic States for September and October and our American tour in November. I know how much it sucks but health comes first. I can assure all of you that when we return, I’ll be stronger than death, and we’ll reschedule every tour as soon as logistics allow. I feel good and strong, my mind is focused, I've got my loving woman by my side, my band mates, friends (never thought there are so many, haha), management, agents and label people are giving me massive support. I can’t ask for more but a little patience now.”

Weezer - Neue Platte am 14.09.2010 auf Epitaph Records

Weezer vermelden, dass sie ihr neues Album "Hurley" am 14.09.2010 auf Epitaph Records veröffentlichen werden. Die Band schreibt:
"...Folks, you may have seen the Twitter chatter by now, but yes its official: Weezer has completed a new album, entitled "Hurley", and it will be out on September 14th on Epitaph Records! This is the 3rd new Weezer album in 3 years, an unprecidented feat for the weez thats reminicent of the olden days in the '60s when bands released new stuff on a tight schedule. In our case its more a matter of striking when the creative iron is hot - and people, its pretty hot!

Soulfly auf Festivaltour - letztes Wochenende u.a. auf dem Sonisphere in England. Hier führte sowohl der britische Musiksender NME TV als auch Sonisphere TV Videointerviews mit SOULFLY Frontmann Max Cavalera. In den Interviews erfahrt ihr Einiges über ihren Auftritt beim Sonisphere Festival und interessante Details aus ihrem Tour Alltag. Wie immer gibts die Videos unten im Player zu sehen. In dieser Woche kommen die Jungs dann auch mal wieder in unsere Gefilde und rocken unter anderem das Wacken Open Air.

Allerdings werden diese Dates ohne den langjährigen Bassisten Bobby Burns stattfinden, denn dieser hat vor einigen Tagen die Band verlassen! Bei dem Split war jedoch keinerlei böses Blut im Spiel, wie die Band bestätigt: "The split was completely amicable and there was no animosity on either side."
Bobby lässt seine Fans wissen: "To all the fans... SOULFLY and I have decided to part ways. Stay tuned for my next projects already in the works. Thanks 4 ur support!!!"

Eine zweite Chance für diejenigen von euch, die dieses KoЯn Megaevent verpasst haben. Während der letzten Monate wurden mysteriöse Kornkreise nahe Bakersfield - der Heimat der Band - beobachtet. Die Fans waren gespannt, was sich ihre Band wohl für sie ausgedacht hatte... Jetzt ist bekannt: Die Band hat mehrere Songs des neuen Albums "KoЯn III - Remember Who You Are" (welches seit dem 9. Juli im Handel erhältlich ist) im Zuge des Event performt, ebenso wie viele Klassiker und Favoriten der Fans.

Leider mussten Ill Nino Ihre letzten Shows der aktuellen Deutschland Tour wegen Krankheit absagen.
Hier noch ein Update aus dem Studio: Die Latin Metal Vorreiter, ILL NIÑO, sind in den letzten Zügen, ihr bis jetzt bestes Album fertig zu stellen. Die Veröffentlichung ihres Debüts auf dem "AFM/Soulfood" (Europe) Label ist für den Herbst angesetzt. Unten angefügt ist ein direktes Update vom ILL NIÑO Schlagzeuger Dave Chavarri aus dem Aufnahmestudio.
"Wir möchten Euch über den Aufnahmestand der neuer ILL NINO CD informieren. ILL NIÑO haben rund um die Uhr gearbeitet, jeden Tag neues Material geschrieben und gemeinsam gejammed. Die neuen Tracks sind total sick. Nach gründlicher Überlegung haben wir beschlossen, unsere neue CD "Dead New World" zu nennen. Unser neues Album beinhaltet alles was ihr vom originalen ILL NIÑO Latin Metal Sound erwarten könnt: Die CD ist fucking heavy, wie gewohnt mit Cristians derber Stimme, melodischen Refrains, Tribal Latin Rhythmen und krankem Guitarren Sound. Das neue Album ist unser bis dato progressivstes Album.
Wir haben niemals dieselbe Platte zweimal veröffentlicht, und unsere "Dead New World" Veröffentlichung wird dies ein weiteres Mal unter Beweis stellen. Wir werden durchgehend in 2010 und 2011 auf Tour sein, tretet also mit uns in die "Dead New World" ein."

Sonic Syndicate: Bassistin während Videodreh ernsthaft verletzt!

Schockierende Neuigkeiten aus dem Camp der schwedischen Modern Rock / Metal Superstars SONIC SYNDICATE! Bassistin Karin Axelsson wurde während des Drehs zum brandneuen Video „Turn It Up“ ernsthaft verletzt! Der Unfall passierte während einer Szene in der die Band von einer sexy Lady mit einer Gitarre erschlagen wird. Anders als gedacht, wurde Karin wirklich mit dem Instrument am Kopf getroffen und trug eine Platzwunde sowie eine Gehirnerschütterung davon.
Bislang ist noch unklar, ob Karin mit der Band bei ihrem nächsten Gig am 7. August auf der Bühne stehen wird.
Roger Sjunesson zu dem Vorfall: „Diese Szenen sollten eines der vielen Highlights in unserem neuen Video werden – also wollte ich es auf jeden Fall festhalten. Das tat ich auch, als Karin mit Sterben an der Reihe war. Was als Spaß begann wurde schnell zur bitteren Realität. Es sah so echt aus, als sie getroffen wurde, dass wir schon applaudieren wollten. Wir merkten dann aber sehr schnell, dass sie wirklich etwas abbekommen hatten. Wir waren total geschockt und erschrocken. Karin bewegte sich nur noch ganz langsam und überall war Blut – Karins eigenes und Kunstblut. Das war echt richtig gruselig! Jetzt sind wir erst einmal sehr beruhigt, dass sie keine bleibenden Schäden davongetragen hat und wünschen uns, dass es ihr bald wieder gut geht!“
Karin selbst dazu: „Wow! Das war echt eine schräge Sache! Was als vorgetäuschter Mord für einen spaßigen Videoclip anfing, wurde fast zum Snuff-Film. Ich wusste überhaupt nicht, was los war. Ich dachte, ich würde nur auf dem Boden liegen und irgendwann ruft jemand „Schnitt!“. Als ich getroffen wurde, erschrak ich und war gleichzeitig geschockt. Ich glaube aber, meine Jungs hatten den Schrecken noch tiefer sitzen, haha… im Moment habe ich immer noch massive Kopfschmerzen, was echt schlimm ist und ich weiß wirklich nicht, ob ich bei der nächsten Show dabei sein kann, weil ich die ganze Zeit total benommen bin – aber seid sicher, dass ich alles in meiner Macht stehende tun werde, um es möglich zu machen! Ich liebe Euch alle!“
Trotz dieses tragischen Unfalls, wird der Clip Ende September erscheinen – Trailer folgen in Kürze! „Turn It Up“ stammt vom kommenden Album „We Rule The Night”, welches am 27. August 2010 erscheinen wird! Hier noch das Video zur aktuellen Single „Revolution, Baby“

Soundgarden: Neues Album am 24. September "Telephantasm"

Vor kurzem haben sich Soundgarden wieder zusammen gefunden und präsentieren nun hierzulande am 24. September mit Telephantasm ihre erste Veröffentlichung seit 1996. Auf diesem umfassenden musikalischen Rückblick finden sich beliebte Hits der Band, Schätze aus dem Backkatalog und der bisher unveröffentlichte Track „Black Rain“, der aus den Aufnahmen zu Badmotorfinger stammt. Telephantasm ist die erste Sammlung dieser Art.
Genau wie die legendären Bands der 60er und 70er, die sie so inspiriert haben, definierten Soundgarden die Rockmusik für eine ganze Generation neu und beeinflussten die Musikgeschichte maßgeblich. Sie waren eine der ersten Bands, die auf dem berühmten Sub Pop Label veröffentlichte und die ersten aus der Musikszene Seattles der 90er, die später von einem Majorlabel gesignt wurden. Jetzt schreiben sie mit Telephantasm wieder Geschichte.
Zu dem Standard Version wird es Telephantasm in drei erweiterten Versionen geben: eine Doppel-CD mit 12 zusätzlichen Tracks, fünf davon bisher unveröffentlicht plus Soundgardens allerersten DVD mit 20 Videos, 13 davon bisher unveröffentlicht, eine Deluxe 3-LP Vinyl Edition und eine Super Deluxe Sammleredition. Letztere ist limitiert und enthält zwei CDs, die DVD, drei schwere Vinyl-LPs, ein Sammelposter, Lithographien und noch einiges mehr. In Nordamerika erscheint die CD in einer Auflage von einer Million im Bundle mit Guitar Hero®: Warriors of Rock.
Am 16. April 2010 betraten Chris Cornell, Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd und Matt Cameron von Soundgarden im Showbox Theater in Seattle zum ersten Mal seit zwölf Jahren gemeinsam eine Bühne. Sie spielten Songs aus ihrem gefeierten Backkatalog und das Ergebnis kann man nur als fulminant bezeichnen. Die vier Mitglieder spielten mit derselben Hingabe und Energie, für die sie immer bekannt gewesen waren. Am 8. August stürmen Soundgarden als Headliner des Lollapalooza im Grant Park in Chicago wieder die Bühne. Kurz vorher, am 5. August, findet noch ein bereits ausverkauftes Konzert im Vic Theatre statt.

Deny Everything lösen sich leider auf

Schade, schade, mal wieder eine gute Band, die sich auflöst. Deny Everything aus Köln werden sich im Oktober auflösen. Hier die Mitteilung der Band:
"Hey everyone,
We’re splitting up in October this year. In November David is going to move to Mexico for two years and we’ve all agreed that this is a good moment to put an end to this band. After playing together for so many years, moving on with another guitar player just wouldn’t feel right. So no hard feelings involved, we’re still friends. After all, that’s what bands do, they split up someday.
Anyway, this band means a lot to us and will always be an important part of our lives. We’re happy that we had the chance to play so many shows all over Europe, and make so many good friends. Also, we’re glad that we found a perfect home for us on Yo-Yo Records, the best label anyone could imagine.
We might be releasing a final 7“. We’re actually writing some songs at the moment and if everything works out, we’ll record them in August. We’ll keep you updated on that.
Our very last show is going to be in Berlin, on Oct. 23rd 2010. We’ll make sure to play some more shows before that, check the list below and make sure to come out and say Goodbye. It means everything to us.
Chris and Björn will continue to play in Underparts. Pablo is still playing in Imhoff Youth. We’ll keep you posted on any further projects.

Darkest Hour gehen ins Studio

Die Washingtoner Thrash-Metaller/Metalcore-Band Darkest Hour geht ins Studio. Die Band schreibt:
"DARKEST HOUR are about to enter the studio and they have announced that they are teaming up with renowned SOILWORK shredder Peter Wichers. The band has put a lot of time and thought into choosing the right producer for this record and they're convinced they've found one. "We're really excited about working with Peter on this album. It's going to be amazing collaborating with such an inventive and unique guitarist/musician to produce and document what we feel is the most emotional and melodic Darkest Hour album to date,” says drummer Ryan Parish.
With records such as ALL THAT REMAINS' "The Fall of Ideals" and SOILWORK's latest effort, "The Panic Broadcast" under his belt, DARKEST HOUR are quite confident in what Peter brings to the table. "Peter is someone we've admired and very much respected as a musician and producer for quite some time. Being a pioneer of the Swedish metal sound, (which has so greatly influenced our band) we hope to refine all of those classic elements with him and incorporate new methods to improve our songwriting" says font man John Henry.
This time around, these songs we're done a bit differently. Guitarist and founding member Mike Schleibaum explains, "We have been working on these tunes ever since we left the studio last April. The Eternal Return was written during a very dark, bleak time for the band and I think that record matches that in both tone and character. Our vision was for it to be an in your face, no frill aggressive assault. The new material shares in that aggression and pushes Darkest Hour beyond the unknown." The new songs are just about finished and ready for the studio. “I am very exited to work alongside the Darkest Hours guys, and I know from hearing some of their new material that it will be a killer one,” says Wilchers himself.

Beatsteaks kündigen neue Platte und Tour an

Die Berliner Beatsteaks haben die Veröffentlichung ihres sechsten, bisher noch unbetitelten Albums angekündigt. Außerdem wird die Band im März 2011 wieder auf Tour gehen. Die Band schreibt:
"Im Zuge der Veröffentlichung unseres nunmehr sechsten, bisher noch unbetitelten Studioalbums(zu veröffentlichen auf Tante Warner Music Germany) werden wir im März 2011 auf verschiedensten Bühnen Deutschlands, aber auch Österreichs und der Schweiz auftreten.

Die Gerüchte um das Ende von Turbonegro gabe es ja schon länger. Wie jetzt u.a. das Ox-Fanzine berichtet, ist nach dem Ausstieg von Sänger Hank v. Helvete wohl das endgültige Ende von Turbonegro gekommen.

"I know anyone can get pretty much anything for free on the internet...so a new collection of old songs from us isn't that exciting...but, uh, yeah, we have a record coming out that contains 'Clumsy' and 'You Are Freaking Me Out' era performances. Some are live, some are in-studio radio takes and a couple are unused studio cuts. We spent a little time making a neat package...the LP is double gatefold fer instance! So, after twelve years of being a band, countless tours around the world
and records being released, we have made the decision to take some

pursue other things. PTW has been an all encompassing, full time thing

Die 90er Jahre Emo-/Indie-Rock Band Chamberlain, die zuvor unter dem Namen Split Lip bereits zusammen Musik gemacht hat, hat sich reformiert und bereits eine neue 7 Inch unter dem Namen "Raise it high" veröffentlicht. Die ungarische Metalcore-Band Bridge to Solace wird sich leider auflösen. Bis zur Abschiedsshow am 02. Oktober 2010 in Budapest spielen die Jungs aber noch einige Shows. Die Band schreibt:
"Hey everyone,
BRIDGE TO SOLACE is breaking up this coming fall. You might have heard it already, but this time it’s official. Makes no sense to look for any special reasons, guess it’s obvious that as a band being together for nearly 10 years, we had to struggle through a fair number of difficulties and people react to given hardships differently on their own terms. We thought the best is to end the band peacefully. As life itself has taken us on different paths the best we could have done is to call it a day. We would like to take the opportunity to thank You, our grateful audience for the eternal support and love we have been given, you guys truly made going through our own private hell seem like a walk in the park!
The band can be seen throughout Hungary this coming summer, and we have the very last Bridge To Solace show coming on the 2nd October in Budapest at the Dürer Kert. This show will feature bands we have been close friends with throughout the years as well as the band’s all past members and fill-ins. Dates can be seen at the Hungarian language section of this note.
We’re sure you’ll hear about new musical endeavors from the members of BTS soon, as plans are in the making already. Thank you again for the past 8 years, without you out there, we’d be nothing! BRIDGE TO SOLACE 25th May, 2010"

Die Brachial-Coreler Coalesce haben verkündet eine Pause einzulegen. Die Band schreibt:
"It's been a fun couple of years. We've had excellent tours with bands we love (Converge, Harvey Milk, Torche, Kylesa, Atlas Moth, Gaza, Touche Amore, Black Breath), been to Europe, East Coast, West Coast, released a new record and a follow up ep, played some great Festivals and had the opportunity to see some old friends, and meet a ton of new people.
This is a good time for a break.
Sean just bought a new house, Junior is starting his new business, Jes is putting the finishing touches on his PhD, and I'm going to sit on my couch and watch Shaun of the Dead.
Thanks for your continued support. Even if Jes put his thumb in your eye, I spit on you, sean puked RIGHT in front of you and Junior gave you a sweaty hug.

Die Gainesville Punkrocker Anchor Arms haben sich nach drei Jahren Bandgeschichte aufgelöst. Hier das Statement:
"well, it's been awhile, and a lot of people have asked me about the arms lately and or told me they've "heard rumors" so i figure i should probably address the state of our band. the reality is that we're pretty much done, i'd disclaim it with a "never say never" type thing, but we really haven't talked much lately and things got weird. i take the entirety of the blame for our demise. i have a lot of emotional issues and suffer from maniac depression and a severe panic disorder. it can certainly make me extremely difficult to deal/work with and at times is debilitating. often times when i've wanted to travel or do things with the band, my mental status has made it literally impossible for me to do so. i try my ASS of everyday to do better and be better with it, but it is a daily struggle. i gave everything i had to give to anchor arms and i know craig, brian and nick did as well. at the end of the day, i'm sure they simply couldn't continue to work with me in a situation where i was an integral part of the process, i sang and played guitar, kinda hard to do a vocal free show. i wish things could've been different believe me, but i think a new start might help us all out. i'm now performing as Eight Ghosts and am currently recording songs for a split 7" with current Casting Out/former Boy Sets Fire vocalist Nathan Gray's solo project. that's coming out on Fail Safe Records soon, then after that i'm doing a full length which will be co-released on Death to False Hope Records and Fail Safe. the arms guys and i haven't spoken much lately, i think space is a good thing for now. i love and care deeply for those guys, but being friends is more important to me that playing music with them. Nick is back playing full time in Assassinate the Scientist and i think craig and bri are just enjoying some time with loved ones right now. i'm going to tour with Eight Ghosts starting regionally in about 2 or 3 months, nationally after that, so if you want me to play where you are, please lemme know and i'll get there. you can reach me at quizmo31@aol.com, here or on the eight ghosts facebook thing. if you ever listened to an Anchor Arms song, came to a show, enjoyed what we did etc, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU! it meant a lot more to us that i can express here. sorry for being crazy

The Now-Denial lösen sich auf

Die Norddeutschen The Now-Denial werden sich auflösen. Vorher werden aber noch einige Shows gespielt und am 16.10.2010 wird die letzte Show stattfinden. Die Band schreibt:
"Hey folks,
The Now-Denial will split up this year. We collectively decided to let go this band. and is this it? yes, almost. it´s been a wonderful time the last nine and a half years and we want to leave with a couple of big bangs. we are about to play some final shows, there will be a last 12" on hardware records (a collection of songs written and recorded over the last one and a half years) and there will most likely be some last merch. we hope it´ll be finished for the shows in september.
we would like to thank all the people who supported us one way or the other over almost a decade. we´ve seen more of the world than we expected, we stayed around longer and written more and better music than we imagined and we met more great people through the band than seemed possible, when we entered the mouldy, shitty rehearsal room in bielefeld for the first time on grey winterday in late 2000.
We are fucking happy about what we achieved and we want to celebrate this and say a heartfelt goodbye at the following dates:
